Is Cornerstone affiliated with a denomination?
Yes, we're one of approximately 1,500 churches in the Evangelical Free Church of America. Find out more about the EFCA at www.efca.org
What is a typical service like?
You'll find people of all ages here who treat each other like a big family. About 300 people, including kids, attend here regularly on Sunday mornings. Our worship style is contemporary. We have two excellent worship bands who lead us in worship using the latest instruments and sound technology. On any given Sunday you'll hear worship music in a current musical style as well as classic hymns done in a fresh way along with current multimedia technology.
You'll hear a solid, uncompromising message right from the Bible each week with a special emphasis on how we can apply God's Word to our lives in a very practical and meaningful way right where we live.
What time is your worship service each Sunday?
Our worship service on Sunday: 10:00 a.m. until 11:10 a.m. We offer Sunday School for children from birth through sixth grade.
How can I get a copy of one of the Sunday messages?
The easiest way is to just navigate to our Listen Online
page and click on the message you'd like to hear or download. If you'd rather get a CD, just call our church office or sign up for one on a Sunday morning at the church.
What should I wear to a service?
When you come here, you'll find that people generally dress in casual and what you might call "business casual" styles. Just come how you feel comfortable.
Do you have a ministry for children?
We'll take great care of your kids from birth through sixth grade in our Nursery and Sunday School programs. These programs run at the same time as our service. See our Children
page for more information about our children's programs.
Do you offer Sunday School for teens and adults?
Sunday School ends after 6th grade. Teens join their parents in the worship services and also have Bible study at Youth Group meetings on Friday evenings (see our Youth
page). For adults we offer a wide range of weekly Small Group Bible studies for adults that meet in homes or at the church for Bible study, fellowship, prayer and mutual support during the week (see Small Groups
If I like it here, how can I become a member?
Attend our CLASS 1.1: Membership @ Cornerstone
class which is divided into two evenings (or three mornings if the class is scheduled for Sunday mornings). It’s a basic introduction to our church family designed to clearly explain our history, who we are, what we believe, what our church is all about, and how to get connected. This is a great opportunity to learn about Cornerstone Community Church, get to know one of our pastors, and meet others.
You don't have to become a member to attend the class -- it's just for your information. But if you would like to become a member, both sessions are required. We'll explain how we operate, answer your questions, and explain how our membership process works. After the class you can decide whether or not you would like to join us in membership. Classes are offered twice a year.
Will I be expected to give money when I come?
At each service we collect tithes and offerings, because God expects it (Mal. 3:10) and because that's how any church receives funding to operate. But as our guest, don't feel any obligation to participate in this part of the service. It's primarily for our regular attendees and members.
